Scholarships Program for Postgraduate Studies at the UNAM
The Coordination of Postgraduate Studies (Coordinación de Estudios de Posgrado [CEP]) operates the Scholarship Program, which aims to allocate monthly maintenance grants to regular full-time Master’s and Doctoral students that dedicate their time exclusively to their studies and have a minimum grade average of 8.5 if currently enrolled in a Master’s program or from their previous studies. The amounts are: 4.5 times the amount of the current daily minimum wage in the Federal District for Master’s students and 6.0 that amount for Doctorate students. The allocation of the grants will be pursuant to the provisions in the Rules of Operation of the Scholarship Program for Postgraduate Studies at the UNAM. A call for scholarship applications is published in the Gaceta UNAM (UNAM Gazette) and the CEP website on the first day of class each semester. Registration to participate in this program is online and students must seek assistance at the Coordination of the Postgraduate Program they are enrolled in. Students receiving another maintenance scholarship or financial aid within or outside the UNAM or those receiving any other payment may not participate in this program. Those interested should make sure that their program of study does not belong to the National Postgraduate Quality Program (Programa Nacional de Posgrados de Calidad [PNPC]) of the National Council on Science and Technology (Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología [CONACyT]).
